The Directorate of Collegiate Education, Government of Tamilnadu, sanctioned both Under Graduate and Post Graduate course in Commerce (General) during the academic year 2013–14. The P.G. Department of Commerce was established in 2013–14 and offers two courses, namely B.Com. (General) and M.Com. (General). Students benefitted a lot from the UG course in B.Com. (General). The passed-out students expressed their desire to do master's courses. Presently, 328 motivated students and two highly effective full-time teaching members and 6 guest lecturers make up the department at the moment, and this department has a track record of excellence in academic and other extracurricular activities.
To develop the department of excellence in education, training and research at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels in commerce.
To offer the best education and to develop the young mind into an all-round personality to meet the growing challenges of industries, teaching and social needs of the competitive and technology-oriented global community.
