Department of Economics

History

The University of Madras gave approval for the undergraduate courses of Economics in 1978. At present the department has four permanent staff and Four Guest lecturer out of eight sanctioned posts. Most of the students are belongs to rural poor socially and economically backward classes. The passes out students express their desire to do Master of Economics keeping in view the academic needs of the students nearby Thiruttani, The Directorate of Collegiate Education, Government of Tamilnadu sanctioned M.A and M.PHIL courses in Economics during the academic year 2013- 2014.

We have engaged in the allied subjects for M.Com (G), B.Com (CS), B.Com (G), and B.B.A, courses of Managerial Economics, Business Economics and Indian Economy etc.
